Social Networking has become more of an addiction for me to be honest!! I dont think that i could make it through the day without checking my facebook page to have a nosey. But are the likes of facebook and bebo just a bit of harmless fun or are they being taken far more seriously??....
Everyone i know spends hours updating and editing their facebook pages but who has access to this information after its posted?...... duh everyone!!! When you apply for a job we are now being told that they will google you and check your facebook pages. That you can be fired from your job for posting something related to it on ur page...... that every photo you get tagged in can be viewed by any1 in the world. For me and all of my friends, facebook is a bit of fun and a way of chatting to each other and having a laugh! We dont think about the consequences of saying "am bored in work"etc.
I think that its stupid that employers take what we say on it seriously!!! Its all just a bit of craic for us. The main thing that can be learned from all of this is that for gods sake put your profile on private because god only knows who is looking you up!!!.....
